What We Do!

The Triad Music Series was created to make learning piano fun and easy for children!  By learning the basics of pitch identification (aurally and visually) note values and rhythm and the expressive elements of music, all the essential tools needed to learn piano are taught through a fun creative group experience!  Stories, games, singing, movement  and playing make this an experience  your child will look forward to each week as they grow and bond with fellow students!

Since these classes are geared for young children, we teach solfege because young children easily absorb the concept names.  It also gives them an extra boost with pitch and singing.  The first book is all about basic rhythms and the first 5 notes of the left and right hand in C position.  Beethoven’s  Ode to Joy is the final song in Book I and every child easily plays it (with both hands), reads the notes and sings the solfege as they play!  It  is always the favorite in Book I and a song that makes the student feel enormously proud to play!

Book II introduces the keys of G and F and the corresponding minor keys.  Allowing the student to begin understanding and to have control of  music theory while they continue to build their knowledge of music and the ability to play!  Book III takes arrangements of classical songs and continues to build on the layers of learning in the first 2 books!

After Book III, children may continue to practice the classics with the fourth book , which also starts working on their composition skills, or they can go right into private piano lessons.

Almost every private teacher I have met, has come up to me and thanked me for prior work I've done with their students.  They especially love how easy it is for them to learn new concepts, how excellent their sight reading skills are, and how much they LOVE to play the piano.
